My name is Gloria, a girl from Cape Maclear Mangochi, and here is a story of how someone gave me a chance at education.

When I wrote my primary school paper I did so well that I was selected for three different secondary schools, but I could not go to any of them simply because my parents could not afford to pay for my fees. So I decided to drop out of school.

But thanks to Steve and Co, that is not how my story was going to end – CMLD gave me another chance at my education, a chance to pursue my dreams, assisting me financially throughout secondary school.

Upon graduation I was selected to the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, and pursued a Bachelors Degree in Internal Auditing – CMLD continued providing me with assistance even during my university education, when financial demands were at an all-time high.

I am very grateful that someone decided to step in and change my story for the better, and my aspiration now is to become a certified Internal Auditor. Thank you CMLD and everyone who donated to the organisation.

Despite its abundant natural beauty and warm, welcoming population, Malawi sadly remains one of the world’s poorest countries.

Economic opportunities are scarce, with most Malawians relying on growing their own food for survival. As such, higher education remains out of reach for the majority of young people.

Thanks to the generosity of foreign donations, CMLD is able to provide financial support and guidance to Cape Maclear residents who’ve excelled in their primary education.
